Oxithion is a food supplement for skin brightening, lightening and anti-ageing. It contains the super antioxidant ingredient of reduced L-glutathione. Oxithion is formulated in fast-dissolving sublingual tablets, with an innovative patented technology that allows L-Glutathione to be rapidly absorbed through the lining inside your mouth, bypassing the digestive system that prevents it from being inactivated by the liver (which happens when taken as a tablet).
How Does it Work?
Each tablet contains 100mg of reduced L-Glutathione, which is the most powerful endogenous antioxidant we can find with anti-melanogenic properties. Glutathione is a natural antioxidant that protects our bodies from oxidative stress, inflammation and toxins.
Our skin colour is determined by the amount of melanin pigments present in the skin. There are 2 different types of melanin pigments in our skin, namely:
- Pheomelanin which is responsible for yellow-red colour
- Eumelanin which is responsible for black-brown pigments
The ratio of these 2 types of pigments determines our skin colour. To achieve fairer skin, we need more pheomelanin and less eumelanin.
Glutathione which is the main ingredient in Oxithion, has been shown to skew the production of melanin towards the lighter phaeomelanin by inhibiting an enzyme called tyrosine kinase and scavenging free radicals.
